Steve worked for regional newspapers and advertising agencies as a graphic designer, art director and illustrator before going freelance in 1986.

He continues to work for national and regional clients while also running art workshops and classes in watercolour, acrylic painting and illustration. He is a sculptor producing figurative carvings in stone and portrait artist of people and animals.

He lives with his wife, Tricia and dog, Sadie, and works from his studio on the North Essex coast overlooking the Blackwater Estuary
